Replace Door Hinge Screws

With a screwdriver put the rest of the screws into the hinge and the holes.

Replace door hinge screws.

Remove the screws that hold the loose hinge leaf to the door jamb. The best way to beef them up is to replace the standard 3 4 in. Fix it the right way not the wrong way. Then bore out the stripped holes with a 3 8 inch diameter bit.

Make sure the hinge folds together the same way as the door will close. If the hinge and jamb are painted cut the paint around the leaf with a utility knife swing the leaf away from the jamb. You can also use a golf tee. You test out the new hinges.

Turn the new hinge with the head of the pin turned up. You put on the new hinges with the screws that came with them. The wrong way is a temporary fix not cool. If the hole is stripped as well as the screw you can plug the hole with wood matches that are covered in glue.

If the door has a large hinge with four screw holes just drive 3 in. Replacing your door hinges is simple right. Hinge screws with at least two 3 in. Screws that go through the jambs and solidly anchor into the framing.

You unscrew the hinge screws from both the door jam and door. Give the hole time to dry before you replace the screws and hinge. Put the hinge in place and install the screws.
